South Indian cuisine has a remarkable ability to bring together regional traditions, aromatic spices and the distinctive flavours of the coast. At Arisii – The Coastal Kitchen in Greater Kailash-2, New Delhi, this culinary diversity takes centre stage through a menu inspired by the food traditions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and the Chettinad region. During my visit, I explored the restaurant’s culinary identity and its approach to presenting familiar South Indian flavours alongside contemporary interpretations. The concept offers an interesting proposition for Delhi’s evolving dining scene, where diners increasingly seek regional authenticity alongside an engaging and thoughtfully presented restaurant experience.

The menu bring seafood specialities, traditional accompaniments, rich gravies, rice preparations and creative fusion dishes. Among the listed signature offerings, Chicken Parotta Burger and  Rawa Fried Prawns stand out as distinctive expressions of  cooking, while Prawns Curry Leaf Calamari and Mutton Dosa Taco offer and familiar comfort through fragrant 4 spices and regional seasoning. Vegetarian diners also have options such as Paneer Parotta Burger and jackfruit-based preparations. Contemporary creations, including Dosa Tacos and the Coastal Bun Parotta Burger, introduce a playful dimension to the menu. These offerings reflect an effort to move beyond conventional South Indian staples and explore a wider spectrum of regional flavours. The final assessment of taste, texture, presentation and consistency rests on the dishes sampled during the actual visit.

What makes Arisii an interesting addition to Greater Kailash-2 is its focus on coastal cuisine as a broader culinary experience rather than a menu limited to dosas and idlis. Its combination of regional specialities and modern interpretations provides an opportunity to explore the diversity of South Indian food in an urban dining setting. Coconut water was further presented as a contemporary approach where Arisii was engraved on it. For diners seeking seafood, regional Indian preparations and creative interpretations of coastal classics, Arisii presents a restaurant worth exploring. Its lasting impression will ultimately depend on the quality of execution, attentive hospitality and the ability to deliver a consistent experience that respects the culinary traditions behind its menu.
