THE CROWNE PLAZA, GREATER NOIDA CELEBRATES IT’S CAKE MIXING CEREMONY WITH GREAT ZEAL AND ENTHUSIASM THIS FESTIVE SEASON: A REFT Today REPORT.
It was an honour for the entire team of REFT Today that we were invited to the cake mixing ceremony at The Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida. I would extend my heartfelt thanks to Ms. Shawali Gupta (Team Crowne Plaza Greater Noida) for the invite, it meant a lot to us. Before we begin with the cake mixing ceremony’s celebration let’s know a bit about it. The history of the cake-mixing ceremony began, back in the 17th. century during the arrival of harvest season. At this time, lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of traditional plum cake. In olden days Granny’s used to call all the relatives for roasted chicken dinner along with some drinks. On that day everyone used to mix dry fruits with juices and let it soak for a period of 15 to 25 days. Later, she prepares Christmas cake or plum pudding with those soaked fruits. After Christmas midnight prayer, she distributes that to all. The myth behind it was that, if one keeps a piece of cake under their pillow, then they will get married soon. Later, this traditional fruit mixing was adopted by the hotels, bakeries and small restaurants which have turned into a celebration today. Apart from anything else this ceremony became a great day for the chefs.
Let’s come back to the cake mixing ceremony which was beautifully held at The Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida. In today’s era, it’s not a matter of any community, caste, creed or religion, everyone is being a prosperous part of celebrating every festival, no matter what the religion is. The world has changed, their thoughts have improvised and it seems that, we the humans are heading towards a better planet. Winter is near, the same way Christmas! The festive vibes are whistling everywhere in the air and breeze. Today people are not bound to any caste or religion, they just celebrate love and harmony, no matter to which community they themselves belong to. Cake mixing was never a religious affair, it was always celebrated to bring closed ones together before Christmas strikes and people get too occupied on festive days. Cake mixing brings good luck along with it, where dry fruits are soaked and are added to the cake mixture later while baking.
As soon as the cake mixing began, the iconic team of several chefs and amazing guests were busy in making the ceremony a successful one. The dry fruits, cherries and spices were spread over a large table. Executive Chef Rajiv Vatsyayan was keeping an eye over everything, whether it was perfectly organised or not? But, his team led his head high over the expectations. Many people ask one common question that if they do not want to mix the dry fruits in alcohol then what is the other option? Then for them it’s a YES of course that, there are wide ranges of options for all those who don’t want to mix dryfruits, cherries and spices into liquor. They can soak them into any fruit juices of their choices which gives a different taste every time they mix a flavour of their own. And the storing process is the same, keeping it in airtight containers, that’s it! Well, the ceremony went on really well, the guests loved it. Lastly, The Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida has something else to celebrate on New Year’s eve, they are inviting singer Navraj Hans to give his marvelous performance which will steal the hearts of all. So what are you waiting for?
