“KAHIN GUM NA HO JAAYE SEASON 8: A ROYAL CELEBRATION OF LOVE, LEGACY AND CULINARY HERITAGE AT UDAIPUR’S HERITAGE HOTEL SHIKARBADI”: A REPORT BY: KHATIBAH REHMAT (SENIOR JOURNALIST).

His Highness Shri Ji Huzoor Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar and Rani Maa graced the event, inspiring participants and celebrating India’s rich culinary heritage.

When work is carried out with a pure heart and selfless devotion, it becomes more than just an effort — it transforms into a divine blessing. Such blessings are beautifully evident when two souls walk hand in hand through life as true companions, cherishing one another’s joys, dreams and emotions. Among such remarkable partnerships are Chef Vimal Dhar and Dr. Chef Sangeeta Dhar, whose unwavering bond is a testament to love and passion. Equally heart-touching is the eternal connection of Colonel Atul Saxena and his wife Late Mrs. Babbeeta Saxena, a love that transcends time and space, now will reunite in the heavens. Colonel Saxena, however, continues to honour his late wife’s memory, expressing his everlasting love through the universal language of food.

The grandeur of Kahin Gum Na Ho Jaaye – Season 8 unfolded like a royal feast for the senses at the historic Heritage Hotel Shikarbadi in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The event witnessed a magnificent congregation of renowned chefs, respected figures from the hospitality fraternity and passionate home cooks who traveled from 22 different states of India to proudly showcase the traditional cuisines of their regions. Each dish carried the soul of its homeland — from the spices of the South to the earthy flavors of the North — weaving together a spectacular culinary tapestry that celebrated India’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Adding youthful vibrance to the occasion were the enthusiastic students from leading hotel management institutes who not only participated with creative flair but also volunteered wholeheartedly, ensuring the event’s smooth execution. Amid this festive atmosphere, Corporate Chef Love Mathur graciously guided Team REFT Today through the venue, personally introducing us to the talented participants and letting us savor their tantalizing creations. Every bite was a journey — from rustic village kitchens to royal thalis — filled with authenticity, passion and love.

The event reached new heights of grace and glory with the distinguished presence of His Highness Shri Ji Huzoor Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar and Rani Maa, whose words of appreciation uplifted the spirits of every chef and participant present. Their encouragement reflected the royal family’s continued commitment to promoting Rajasthani culture, heritage and the art of Indian cuisines’. Chef Narendra Singh and Chef Devendra also added inputs about the event.

The stay at Shikarbadi was nothing short of enchanting — surrounded by lush greenery and the serene beauty of nature. As dusk settled, the sight of deer families gracefully wandering near our rooms added a touch of magic to the royal experience, reminding us that Udaipur’s beauty lies not only in its palaces but in its harmony with nature.

Such beautiful giveaways and trophies were arranged by the team of Rajasthan Royals Chef Society under the supervision of Chef Vimal Dhar and Dr. Chef Sangeeta Dhar.

From the heart, I extend my sincere gratitude to Chef Vimal Dhar for his kind invitation, warm hospitality and exceptional arrangements that made the event truly memorable for Team REFT Today. Every moment spent at Kahin Gum Na Ho Jaaye – Season 8 was a celebration of love, legacy and the spirit of culinary togetherness.
